This is a gorgeous Jessica McClintock strapless ivory/gold brocade strapless gown in size 2. I bought this for my wedding but wore something else. The wedding dress has been around for a long time. In fact, it is thought that the first wedding gown was worn by Princess Philippa in 1406. Of course, things have changed quite a bit over the past 600 years. In the middle ages, blue was the color of choice for wedding dresses – not white.
During the Renaissance period the train made its first appearance. Additionally, it was during this time that the garter first came into play.
By the early 1800’s, waistlines were rising, all the way up to under the breasts. In the 1820’s, corsets accompanied by wide skirts were all the rage.
